Hi, I’m Sarah Olson

My life has been a journey that started on a farm in rural Nebraska and has brought me to metro Detroit building my career as an Engineering Director. I strive to fill it with as much laughter as possible every single day, but often the smiles are accompanied by frustration and tears. I’ve learned that a truly full life must include all of these!

Growing up on a farm gave me a deep appreciation for hard work and family. While I find nature beautiful and love being outdoors, I’ve always wanted to live in a larger city and travel the world. I love concerts, restaurants, bars, museums and PEOPLE too much to live in the country! Starting out on my mission to escape, I earned my Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Shortly after I got my Master’s in Engineering Management from there while I worked as an engineer for Goodyear. My career has given me the chance to travel Europe a lot, so adventures checked!

In 2004 I changed jobs and moved from Nebraska to Nashville, TN and then Michigan. This was a time when both my career and my personal life was full of changes! I got married in 2006, and became a mother to my two boys in 2009 & 2011. My boys are the loves of my life and the creators of wrinkles! They have taught me SO much about myself, specifically just how strong I can be.

I discovered the importance of regular exercise when I was trying to keep up with 2 little energizer bunnies all on my own and work full time. My husband worked nights when the boys were young and to be honest there is a LOT from those years I don’t remember! I do not consider myself a health nut, but I’m always looking for ways to hold on to what I’ve got and stay active.

Now I’m entering a new chapter in life with a greater self understanding and confidence. I will share with all of you some pearls of hard earned wisdom from my past, and discover new ones together!

May you be brave and flourish!
